CAP Sites Continue Support Services

***********************************************

CAP Site Services:

Technical Support Services: Workshops are offered regularly for residents in the various CAP Site located communities in the County. The Project will provide special workshops in November and February for local businesses to help them enhance their high speed services as the second phase of the Broadband installations are completed in Victoria  County.

Web Cam:  Using a web cam allows you to see the person you are speaking to.  This is a fun way to keep in touch with grandchildren or family and friends who live far away.

VoIP:  Voice over the Internet.  If you have a high-speed internet connection you can use this technology to communicate with family & friends over the Internet.  We use a free program that allows you to use the computer, a headset with a microphone to speak just as you would use a telephone.  Free computer to computer calling.

Digital Camera: Many of us are now using a digital camera to take photos.  If you’re having trouble learning how to use yours - come in to the CAP Site and we will help you figure it out. We can also show you some programs to help you manage your photos for emailing and printing.

Assistive Technology Software:  We also have available software that can do many functions such as read the information on the computer to you, make a book into an audio file so you can listen to it.  We can show you how to adjust your computer so the text is larger or so your computer is easier to see, hear and use.

Outreach Services: We realize that it’s not always easy to get into a CAP Site due to transportation issues, or lack of accessibility into the building.  We also realize that not everyone has access to a computer or the Internet.  Through our outreach services we may be able to assist you with these concerns.  Phone your local CAP Site to discuss the outreach services you require.

Job Searching Skills: Are you looking for a job and need a place to start? Do you have a disability and need information for programs and services that can get you into the workforce? Do you need some help in looking up information or finding services? CAP Sites can help you get started and provide you with this information.
