Web Optimization Project

The Victoria County CAP Sites Association Web Optimization Project has the broad objectives of: increasing the skill levels of CAP site staff, youth and volunteers; optimizing web material for VCCAPS, CAP sites, small businesses, and community organizations in our area; making use of GPS technology, Google Earth, Wikipedia, etc.; producing manuals and training material for future training and to disseminate to other sites; and increasing usage at the sites for training, broadband usage and web optimization tools. These objectives will be achieved through training with all VCCAPS project personal including youth interns, and our partners, including volunteers from individual C@P Sites site, small business people; and community organization members. The overall outcomes achieved will be: the production of a Web Optimization Training PowerPoint Presentation on CD and/or the Web; training manuals on the various steps including GPS usage, Google Earth and other tools, apps, and Wikipedia; the usage of GPS units, servers, and Web material; people skilled with various new technologies and applications; and increased C@P Site usage. Please check back here often for upcoming workshops and available training resources.

This project is made possible by funding from the Nova Scotia Department of Economic and Rural Development (ERD) as part of the Community Access Program and its Youth Initiative. VCCAPS is very pleased to hire local youth and a regional coordinator to work with you in your community. Please see our staff information page to learn more about them.
